Client: National Literacy Trust

The Challenge

The National Literacy Trust (NLT) wanted to inspire disadvantaged children to dream of a big future for themselves through writing. They ran a competition inviting kids across the UK to exercise their imaginations and write their very own short stories. The competition led to some exceptional work, but the NLT didn’t want it all to fall by the wayside. Was there something we could do with the work that would inspire these little big imaginations even further?

The Solution

We showed the kids just what they could achieve with their skills, by turning their body of work into a stunning collection of books. Overnight, over 1,000 kids became published authors, with their work featured in exhibitions funded by the Arts Council. The spotlight was on them, and they could see directly how their talent could shape their future.

Did we unlock potential?

Yes. We helped inspire over 1,000 disadvantaged kids to see themselves as published writers. Making them feel valued and helping them reimagine what their future can look like. It cannot be underestimated what a project like this can do for a child’s confidence, and we can’t wait to see what these, already successful, authors go on to achieve.
